Memories in Resin

 

Join me on Wednesday, April 23rd from 6 - 8:30pm at Port Sandy Bay in Two Rivers for a fun and creative evening.

 

Turn YOUR favorite memories into wearable art!  You will learn how to create personalized PHOTO JEWELRY using resin.  Ditch the ordinary jewelry pendants

and wear something personal and extraordinary!  Maybe you have a fabulous vacation photo, or family, pet or nature photos etc which you would like to use.  With Mother's Day quickly approaching, a photo pendant will make a unique and meaningful gift too.

You will create THREE pieces of resin jewelry.  You can choose from the four casting shapes of Square, Rectangle, Circle or Oval.  Sizes range from 1-1 7/8". The 3 pendants can be different shapes.  Or you can choose to do a (stainless steel) bracelet with metal bezel as one of your three choices.   The metal bezel is small and thin so it will allow you to create something from supplies provided, including a slice from a painted pallet from previous Art Night's, (like in the photo), scrapbook papers, tiny beads etc.  Feel free to bring something flat to embed if interested.  Also available will be transparent colored film specifically made for resin.  You can cut the colored film into shapes to create an abstract design in one of your pieces instead of a photo.  Lots of opportunities to experiment and learn about working with resin. Whether you choose to create three photo pieces or one photo, one colored film piece and a bracelet, etc is all up to you! Any combination but limited to one bracelet per person.  

 

There is a little PRE-CLASS PREPARATION.  Please email your chosen, good quality photos to me at info@amyzander.com at least one week before the class. Make a notation in the email about which shape you would like to use for your photo pendants. Yes, you can choose different shapes. (Square, Rectangle, Circle or Oval).  I will crop the photos and print them on special paper for resin in the shape desired.  This will allow me time to prepare your materials for the project.  

 

Because resin is fluid, you can choose to keep your pieces at the venue overnight and pick them up the next day at 6pm.   I will have them all ready to go for you the next day, including drilling the hole for wire, bending wire for hanging and attaching the chain.  If you choose to take your pieces home wet, that is an option too.   More about this will be discussed in class.
